Brazilian Soccer Player Injures Self Celebrating First-Ever Pro Goal
In what we can only term " pulling a Gramatica," 19-year-old Internacional striker Maurides found himself on a stretcher tonight after a celebratory backflip turned his first goal as a professional into a painful injury.
Internacional cruised to a 3-1 Copa do Brasil victory over America Mineiro in the first leg of their third-round matchup, but that final score for Maurides and subsequent failure to stick the landing left the young soccer prospect with a sprained knee in what was his first-ever appearance for the club.
