Brewers activate RHP Tobias Myers to make season debut
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers (36) pitches during the first inning of Game 3 of National League wild-card series against the New York Mets on Thursday October 3, 2024 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wis. The Milwaukee Brewers activated right-handed starter Tobias Myers from the injured list Thursday to make his season debut on the road against the San Francisco Giants.
In a corresponding move, left-hander Bryan Hudson was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
Myers, 26, had a 2.03 ERA in three minor league rehab starts as he recovered from an oblique injury that occurred in spring training. He was a revelation in his rookie season last year, going 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA in 27 appearances (25 starts).
Hudson, 27, is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in 11 relief appearances this season. In 60 relief appearances over the last three seasons with the Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers, he is 6-2 with a 2.60 ERA.
Also Thursday, the Brewers sent veteran right-hander Brandon Woodruff back to Nashville on a rehab assignment as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury that has kept him out of action since 2023.
