Mandatory Credit: Rick Scuteri-Imagn Images The Milwaukee Brewers are adjusting their starting rotation after recalling left-hander Thomas Pannone to face the San Francisco Giants on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Pannone, 32, will take the roster spot of rookie right-hander Garrett Stallings, who was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
Pannone was 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA in 16 appearances (15 starts) at Nashville after missing the entire 2025 season with a flexor tendon injury. He has made just one major league appearance in the past seven seasons as a member of the Brewers in 2023.
In two seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-19), he was 7-7 with a 5.43 ERA in 49 appearances (13 starts).
Against the Giants on Wednesday, Pannone will slide into the rotation spot of left-hander Shane Drohan, who will now start Friday on the road against the Los Angeles Angels.
Stallings, 28, made his major league debut July 2 and has not allowed a run in three relief outings (five innings).
Milwaukee entered play Wednesday at 67-40, which was tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best record in the major leagues. The Brewers and Dodgers face off in a four-game series Aug. 13-16 at Los Angeles.
