Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-Imagn Images Milwaukee Brewers standout Christian Yelich departed Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Washington Nationals due to tightness in his left hamstring.
Yelich went 0-for-2 as the designated hitter and felt a twinge in the hamstring during his second at-bat, according to Brewers manager Pat Murphy. Yelich was pinch-hit for in the fifth by Gary Sanchez.
Murphy expressed concern over Yelich's injury during his postgame press conference.
"We're most likely to get some bad news on Yelich," Murphy said.
Yelich is batting .314 with one homer and 10 RBIs in 15 games this season.
Yelich, 34, was the National League MVP in 2018 and is a two-time batting champion and three-time All-Star. But he has battled injuries in recent years, often due to his balky back.
Yelich had a healthy 2025 campaign and batted .264 with 29 homers and 103 RBIs in 150 games. The 100-RBI campaign was the second of his career behind the 110 he had during his MVP campaign.
After playing his first five players with the Miami Marlins (2013-17), Yelich has spent the rest of his career with the Brewers.
