Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-Imagn Images The Kansas City Royals' series opener against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks was postponed from Friday to Saturday due to inclement weather.
Instead, the teams will play a split doubleheader Saturday at 2:10 and 7:10 p.m. ET
The Royals were slated to give right-hander Luinder Avila his first MLB start after he made 13 relief appearances last year. Now, Avila will pitch Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader and veteran right-hander Seth Lugo (1-0, 0.00) will handle Game 2.
The Brewers would have pitched right-hander Chad Patrick on Friday. Patrick (0-0, 2.08) will get the nod for Game 1 and righty Brandon Sproat (0-0, 21.00) will take Game 2.
Milwaukee won five of its first six games by averaging 7.5 runs per contest. This marks the Brewers' first road series of the season.
