Broncos Coach Wade Phillips Carted Off After Sideline Collision
Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips left today’s game on a cart after a San Diego Chargers player collided with him on the sideline during a play.
As Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown, one of his teammates blocked Chargers running back Melvin Gordon out of bounds. Gordon ran into Phillips, who fell hard.
Medics strapped Phillips to a board, and he moved his hand as he was carted off the field. The Broncos said Phillips was taken to a hospital but was doing okay:
