Broncos Kicker Charged Criminally With DUI, Morally With Ditching A Strip-Club Worker In A Hotel Lobby
Word out of Denver this morning indicated that Broncos kicker Matt Prater was charged with drunkenly backing his Chevy TrailBlazer into a silver sedan parked outside of a Hyatt Suites in Greenwood Village last week. Witnesses reported the driver then went into the hotel, which is where things get sexy.
When police went into the hotel lobby, they met a woman who said she had been a passenger in the TrailBlazer.
According to the arrest reports, the woman told police she and a man named Matt P. had just left Shotgun Willie's, where she worked. She could not remember his last name.
After the accident, she and the man went into the hotel to get a room, but the hotel was full. She said she did not know where he went, but she was waiting for a cab ride home.
Shotgun Willie's bills itself as the "Best Strip Club in Denver." Police later found Matt P. "at the nearby La Quinta hotel. According to the reports, Prater told officers he 'didn't leave a note on the vehicle he hit because there was multiple witnesses confronting/yelling at him.'"
Prater said he had not been drinking, but officers reported they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Prater failed to pass roadside maneuvers and officers arrested him.
After being transported to the police department, Prater said: "I really messed up. I'm going to lose my job. I deserve this," the report states.
Prater hit 3-of-3 field goals against Dallas the other night, which means his job's probably safe. As for permission to re-enter Shotgun Willie's, well, that's unclear.
