Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-Imagn Images The Denver Broncos placed veteran left guard Ben Powers on injured reserve Saturday, six days after he sustained a biceps injury.
Powers sustained a torn biceps in the final series of last weekend's 21-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He underwent surgery earlier this week and is expected to miss at least two months.
Powers, 28, had started 39 straight games for Denver since joining the team as a free agent prior to the 2023 season.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Powers spent his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has started 75 of 86 games played.
Matt Peart, 28, is expected to start in Sunday's game against the New York Jets in London. He has started just nine of 65 games played with the New York Giants (2020-23) and Broncos.
Denver also elevated guard Calvin Throckmorton from the practice squad. He hasn't seen any action this season but got into two games in 2024.
Throckmorton, 29, has played in 48 games (27 starts) with the New Orleans Saints, (2021-22), Carolina Panthers (2023), Tennessee Titans (2023) and Broncos.
Denver also activated defensive tackle Malcolm Roach (calf) from injured reserve. The team is listing him as questionable for Sunday's game.
Roach, 27, will be making his season debut if he should get into the game. Last season, he had 43 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 17 games.
Roach also played with the Saints from 2020-23. He has 133 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 58 career games (six starts).
