Browns Promote Third-String Quarterback To Starter
Browns gonna Browns, I guess. Via the team's Twitter account and an unintentionally hilarious use of the word "BREAKING," the Cleveland Browns have announced that third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer will start this Sunday's game against the Vikings.
It's an odd move, as Hoyer is leaping right over backup quarterback Jason Campbell, who replaced starter Brandon Weeden when Weeden left last Sunday's game with a thumb injury. Poor Jason Campbell, man. The guy is now with his 4th team and 5,467th offensive coordinator, and he's fallen from "pretty OK quarterback" to "dude who gets leapfrogged on the depth chart by Brian Hoyer."
And what do we know about Hoyer? Well, the four-year veteran has only attempted 96 passes in his career—most of which he spent backing up Tom Brady in New England—but he did start in Week 17 for the Cardinals last year, throwing for 225 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Also, here is the first YouTube search result for Brian Hoyer. It's titled "Brian Hoyer 1 for 1."
So he's basically a stud. Enjoy the game on Sunday, Browns fans.
