Mandatory Credit: Kyle Ross-Imagn Images Brad Marchand registered a goal and an assist as the Boston Bruins gained a measure of revenge on the Philadelphia Flyers with a 3-0 road victory on Saturday.
Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves for his fifth career shutout -- and his first since April 10, 2023, when he blanked the Vancouver Canucks as a member of the Los Angeles Kings.
Matthew Poitras and Justin Brazeau also scored for Boston, which had lost five of its previous six games, including a 2-0 home shutout against Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Samuel Ersson started in goal for the Flyers before leaving early in the first period with an undisclosed injury. Philadelphia had won three of its previous four games, including Tuesday's win in Boston -- its first road regulation victory over the Bruins in more than 13 years.
In this one, the Bruins took a 1-0 lead at 13:28 of the first period. Hampus Lindholm sent a shot from the blue line that caromed off the end board and back near the front of the crease. Poitras chipped the puck past Aleksei Kolosov for his first goal of the season.
Brazeau's third goal of the campaign -- all coming in the last five games -- made it 2-0 midway through the second period. Marchand carried the puck behind the net while holding off a defender, and then he centered the puck to Brazeau, who one-timed it past Kolosov.
Korpisalo's highlight saves included a stop on Morgan Frost on a 2-on-1 when Owen Tippett got behind the defense and set up his teammate for a point-blank attempt.
Marchand added an empty-netter with 3:39 remaining to seal the victory.
Kolosov finished with 20 saves in relief of Ersson, who made eight stops before exiting. Philadelphia failed in three power-play opportunities and had 15 giveaways on the afternoon. The Flyers outhit the Bruins 30-22.
The final matchup of the season series takes place when the Bruins host the Flyers on Dec. 7.
