Buzzer-Beating Tip-In Winner Called Good After Five Minutes Of Replay
The Memphis Grizzlies somehow pulled out a 111-110 win tonight at home over the Kings thanks to a buzzer-beating inbound pass-to-tip-in from Vince Carter to Courtney Lee with just 0.3 seconds remaining. It then took officials nearly five minutes to declare the basket good and to allow the Griz to celebrate.
Let's be clear: this is some laughable defense by the Kings. But if the ball was tipped on the inbound—as replay might have suggested, though not conclusively enough for officials to overturn the play as called on the court—that might have excused things. Still, this is a pretty unique buzzer-beater for the win as far as the NBA goes.
