C.J. McCollum On The Trail Blazers' Playoff Woes: "Im Trying Jennifer"
credits: Abbie Parr | source: Getty When Portland-based podcaster C.J. McCollum appeared on China Central Television in late July to promote some kind of shoe, he had some choice words about superteams, as seen in a video that is just now making the rounds in American media:
“I would never do anything of that nature,” McCollum said when asked if he might one day glom on to the Warriors’ superteam. “Yeah, I think that’s disgusting, disgusting. It’s disgusting. I would never do that. I’m not built like those guys, I was raised differently.”
Days later, McCollum would take his critiques directly to Kevin Durant on his Pull Up podcast, only for the reigning Finals MVP to laugh in his face and tell him not to worry about “what’s going on at the top of things.”
McCollum, who must have just seen his name crop up again in the offseason news cycle, took issue with the way media outlets were making him out to be a “scorn man.”
When pressed by a critic, McCollum sounded as defeated as his team in the first round of the 2017 and 2018 NBA playoffs:
