Guardians vs. Rays ALCS Game 6 Best Betting Picks
The Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays shift their set to Central Florida on Monday night for Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), with first pitch set for 8:08 p.m. ET on TBS/truTV/HBO Max.
The Rays lead the best-of-seven series 3-2, meaning that the Guardians have their backs to the wall heading back to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Cleveland won Game 1 in St. Pete, and they won the final two games of the ALDS against the Chicago White Sox when facing elimination in both outings, so the Guardians won’t be fazed by the situation.
The Rays plan to start RHP Freddy Peralta, who twirled six scoreless innings in Game 2 last Tuesday, giving up just four hits and two walks with six strikeouts. He appeared in two-thirds of an inning of relief Saturday, walking one, while picking up a hold.
For the Guardians, it’s uncertain what direction they’re going to go. Cleveland started LHP Parker Messick in Game 5 after a bullpen day for Game 4. Many people believed the Guards would bring back RHP Gavin Williams on short rest, but manager Stephen Vogt shot that down. It appears that Williams would work on normal rest for a potential Game 7, if that decisive contest occurs Tuesday.

So, for Game 6, it looks like RHP Tanner Bibee could be the most sensible option, while LHP Joey Cantillo and RHP Slade Cecconi could see some time out of the bullpen, with perhaps RHP Daniel Espino back for an inning, too. That looks somewhat ominous, as Cecconi and Espino have had some difficult times in this series.
The back-end of the bullpen for Cleveland has been worked pretty heavily, too, and while that has been a strength of the team, eventually there are going to be some cracks in the dam.
In Game 5 in Cleveland on Sunday, Tampa Bay piled up 12 hits, but managed just three runs. Still, RHP Drew Rasmussen baffled the Cleveland hitters for seven innings, allowing one run and four hits. Relievers Cam Booser, Tyler Wells and Bryan Baker worked two scoreless innings of relief to shut down any comeback bid.
The Milwaukee Brewers are awaiting a winner of this ALCS to find out who it will be playing in the 2026 World Series. While the storm clouds appear to be gathering for the Guardians, as the pitching math doesn’t look like it’s adding up, this Cleveland team has faced plenty of adversity before. When it seemed like it was dead and buried, it has risen up and defied the odds. Do they have one more in them?
The answer is yes. There will be a Game 7 in the ALCS. Let’s back the GUARDIANS (+124), as it’s very unlikely Peralta is effective for a second straight postseason start. And, we’ll go UNDER 6.5 (-105) in this intense game.
