Cal State-Bakersfield Wins First NCAA Tourney Bid With Last-Second Stunner
Dedrick Basile’s last-second three-pointer gave the Cal State-Bakersfield Roadrunners a 57-54 win over NMSU and punched that school’s first ticket to the NCAA tournament since joining Division I nine years ago.
CSU-Bakersfield led most of the game, only to see Tanveer Bhullar— you remember his brother Sim—tie it for the Aggies with 13 seconds remaining. That set up Basile’s heroics; officials later added two tenths of a second to the clock, but New Mexico State couldn’t do much with it.
