This has nothing to do with the latest controversy over Cam Newton’s dancing, which I’m sick of and would rather not get into. (This guy’s got opinions, though.) Instead, it’s just an observation: no one takes better pictures than Cam Newton.
My news peg, such as there is one, is the above photo by Getty Images’ Grant Halverson, showing Newton making his entrance before yesterday’s 44-16 demolishing of Washington. The fire in the background warping the air and Newton’s joyful roar mirroring the Panthers logo combine to make a hell of a shot. Here are two more snaps, both by Halverson:
It’s a thing I’ve noticed over the course of the year: I look forward to writing Cam Newton blogs because it’s a blast going through the photo wires.
The dude doesn’t take a bad shot. I figure there are a couple of reasons. Newton is unusually expressive, both in his ridiculously broad smile and his exaggerated body language. The Panthers uniform, its bright blue setting off the black (or vice versa on the road), is attention-grabbing. Newton’s helmet visor makes him look like a video game character.
This was the first time this season a Newton photo grabbed me, though he’s not necessarily the focal point. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images.)
This one (AP Photo/Bob Leverone) is fantastic too:
Please enjoy some more Cam Newton photos from just the last month. He makes the Monday morning wires a little prettier.
