Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach will miss two to four weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Dach sustained the injury after absorbing a hit from Anaheim Ducks forward Jeffrey Viel early in the first period of Montreal's 4-3 loss on Sunday. He was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Dach, 25, has recorded 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 32 games this season. He missed 31 contests earlier this season due to a fractured foot.

Dach has totaled 135 points (51 goals, 84 assists) in 301 career games with the Chicago Blackhawks (2019-22) and Canadiens. He was selected by the Blackhawks with the third overall pick of the 2019 NHL Draft.
