Caps Fan Takes Puck To Face, Waits Until After OT To Get Stitches
Meet the face that launched a thousand fans-just-as-tough-as-the-players quips. Alicia Drummond took a puck to the face during yesterday's Flyers-Caps game and rather than get the medical attention she needed to sew up her head, she stuck it out and watched the rest of the game.
The puck entered the stands with a little over three minutes left in the game with the Capitals trailing the Flyers 4-3. Ovechkin— of course—tied the game with less than a minute to go and the Caps went on to win 5-4 in a shootout. That's when Drummond—who looked like she was knocked out at first, but was later shown responding to assistance—finally got her stitches. Hopefully this doesn't become some kind of DC superstition; Washington fans are in rough shape as it is.
