Carlos Peña Hits Home Run Into Brisket
Carlos Peña broke into the majors with the Rangers 13 years ago. Now he's back in the Dallas metroplex, and celebrating his return by hitting home runs into tubs of beef brisket.
Our old friend Jim Knox caught up with the guy who fetched the home run ball, and we learn he gave it to a young woman nearby. Swapping treasured objects coated in brisket is, we believe, an ancient Texas mating ritual. As for Peña, he had reason to celebrate: it was the slugger's first homer in more than a year.
