Celtics C Kristaps Porzingis injures ankle vs. 76ers

Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis injured his ankle during a 118-114 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
Porzingis seemingly got hurt just 65 seconds into the contest, slipping near the top of the key while trying to create separation with a step back. He did end up logging six minutes in the second quarter but wasn't on Boston's bench when the teams returned from halftime.
The Celtics then listed the big man as doubtful due to left ankle soreness. Porzingis never took the floor in the second half.
In 13 minutes of action, Porzingis posted nine points, two rebounds and three assists.
Porzingis, 29, has made only 11 appearances (all starts) for Boston this season. He didn't play until Nov. 25 after undergoing offseason surgery on the same ankle that he tweaked on Wednesday.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla didn't have an update on Porzingis following the game, but The Athletic reported that the one-time All-Star had no visible brace on his ankle while leaving Boston's locker room.
Porzingis is averaging 18.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
