Chad Johnson Remains In Jail, Might Be There Until Tomorrow Morning [UPDATE: He'll Be Out Soon]
Chad Johnson was booked into Broward County Jail last night after being arrested on charges he head-butted new wife Evelyn Lozada after an argument over a receipt for a box of condoms.
While Johnson could make bond this morning, the Sun-Sentinel says he can't be released until his first appearance before a judge which would likely take place Monday morning. Johnson and Lozada's July 4 wedding were scheduled to be part of a new VH1 reality program, and Lozada had a prominent role in the first episode of HBO's Hard Knocks that premiered a week ago.
It's likely to affect Johnson's place on the roster, as the Dolphins brought 12 wide receivers into camp and may not be up for keeping someone dealing with criminal charges on the team—especially a player coming off such a miserable 2011 campaign as Johnson.
Update (9:10 a.m.): And just as we publish the above, the Miami Herald reports Johnson appeared before a judge this morning and was released on $2,500 bond.
