Chinese Man Died Of Exhaustion Trying To Watch All Of Euro 2012
A Chinese man has reportedly died after staying up for 11 straight nights (because of the time difference) to watch every match of Euro 2012.
After watching Italy defeat the Republic of Ireland, the 26-year-old fan went back to his home in Changsha, took a shower and fell asleep. Xiaoshan never woke up.
Sources claim that the combined effects of alcohol, tobacco and sleep deprivation were to blame for his untimely death. Xiaoshan's friends were left shocked after learning of his death, stating that he lived a "relatively healthy life."
Sounds a bit more like the Hollywood starlet definition of "exhaustion" and not so much the die-hard sports fan's, but it's a teachable moment nonetheless—"relatively" is apparently open to a wide interpretation.
