Cincinnati's Pat Noonan wins MLS Coach of the Year honor

Noonan, in his second season at the helm of the club, led Cincinnati to its first Supporters' Shield. The team, which joined the league in 2019, finished in last place in the Eastern Conference in its first three seasons in the league.
In 2022, Cincinnati won its first-ever MLS Cup playoff match.
This season, Cincinnati tallied 69 points (20-5-9), which tied for the fourth-most points ever in an MLS season.
Cincinnati has advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinal round of the MLS Cup and will meet the No. 4 Philadelphia Union Saturday.
The club won 14 one-goal games this season, the third-highest in MLS history.
Noonan, 43, garnered 45 percent of the vote. Bradley Carnell of St. Louis City SC (27.78 percent) and Wilfried Nancy of the Columbus Crew (11.73 percent) finished behind Noonan in the balloting.
