Cleancast: Why The Hell Is My Kitchen A Sticky Mess?

My guest this week on the official Ask a Clean Person podcast is Kristin Appenbrink, a contributing editor at The Kitchn, who joined me to talk about, well, kitchens. Kristin, who is a fellow member of the Order of Clean Peoples, helps me tackle two kitchen-related cleaning questions that very frequently land in my inbox.

In the first segment, we talk about the vexing sticky film that tends to cover kitchen surfaces like glue, working through why it happens and what you can do about it. In the second segment, we offer help to people looking to remove staining from the interior of enameled cast-iron cookware like Le Creuset.

We also talk about commenter culture, both here in our Deadspin universe (I sang your praises, don’t you worry!) and over at Apartment Therapy and The Kitchn, sibling sites that have absolutely BERSERK commenters who produced my all-time favorite comment thread on the entire internet, on the subject of cleaning a washing machine.
