Clemson Receiver Gets Baptized At Practice, Sets School Record For Receptions, Incontrovertibly Proves God Is Real And Baptist And An ACC Fan
Junior DeAndre Hopkins looked like a new man in Clemson's win over Auburn on Saturday. He set a school record with 13 catches, finishing with 119 yards and a score. Then his wide receiver coach posted this photo to Twitter, totally explaining everything— Hopkins had been baptized after Thursday's practice, in front of his teammates and coaches, in what looks like the team's Rubbermaid ice tub.
The baptism doesn't appear to violate SFISD v. Doe, the Supreme Court case that declared pre-high school football game prayers unconstitutional, because this took place at a private practice. So more power to Hopkins! Hopkins got a ton of looks in the Tigers' first game because star sophomore Sammy Watkins was suspended after an offseason arrest for possession. When God closes a door, he opens a bag of weed and pops a couple Adderall.
