Clippers spread points around in defeating Mavericks

Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports Paul George scored 25 points and Terance Mann added a season-high 17 as the Los Angeles Clippers turned in a dominant performance to beat the visiting Dallas Mavericks 107-88 on Saturday.
Norman Powell had 15 points and Russell Westbrook finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Los Angeles, which never trailed after the game's opening minutes and won for the fourth time in its last five games. Ivica Zubac added 11 points and a season-high 14 rebounds.
Luka Doncic scored 30 points to lead Dallas, which trailed by as many as 24 in the third quarter and lost for the third time in its last four games. Kyrie Irving added 26 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 12.
The Clippers rolled to the convincing victory despite an off night by star Kawhi Leonard, who scored eight points on 2-of-12 shooting, including 0-of-5 from 3-point range.
Doncic, Irving and Hardaway combined for 28 of Dallas' 34 field goals. The Mavericks shot 37.4 percent from the field, including 9-of-38 (23.7 percent) from 3-point range.
Los Angeles led 29-18 at the end of the first quarter after holding a 20-2 advantage on points in the paint.
The Clippers maintained their momentum and moved ahead 46-28 on George's layup midway through the second quarter. George scored 15 points in the first half to lead Los Angeles, which took a 56-45 lead into the break.
Doncic provided nearly half of the Mavericks' offense in the first half, finishing with 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting.
The Clippers extended their lead to 74-50 late in the third quarter when Zubac's dunk capped an 18-5 run.
Dallas trailed by 17 at the end of the third quarter after shooting 3-of-12 (25 percent) from 3-point range in the period.
Both teams rested their starters with five minutes remaining in the contest and Los Angeles holding a 20-point lead.
The Mavericks played without rookie center Dereck Lively II, who is listed as day-to-day due to a lower back contusion.
