Cole Caufield stays hot as Canadiens top Sabres

Josh Anderson, Alex Newhook and Jake Evans also scored for the Canadiens, who have won four straight. Lane Hutson and Christian Dvorak each had two assists, and Jakub Dobes made 23 saves.
Alex Tuch scored in his third straight game for the Sabres, who have lost their last two. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 saves.
Montreal has taken all three games against Buffalo this season and the teams will conclude the season series Monday night in Montreal.
The Canadiens were 1-for-3 on the power play; the Sabres were 0-for-2.
Caufield gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead at 1:13 of the second period when he scored on a one-time from the bottom of the left circle off a pass from Patrick Laine on a power play. Caufield's has five points (three goals, two assists) in his past four games.
The Sabres tied it 1-1 at 6:04 when Jacob Bryson stole the puck behind the net and fed Tuch for one-timer from the left circle. It was his 22nd goal of the season.
Jiri Kulich gave the Sabres a 2-1 lead when he scored on a one-timer from the right circle off a pass from Rasmus Dahlin on the rush at 7:33.
Josh Anderson tied the score 2-2 at 13:33 when he scored from the slot after a pass from Dvorak. Anderson became the 11th Canadien player to reach 10 goals this season.
Alex Newhook put the Canadiens ahead 3-2 when he redirected a pass from Mike Matheson past Luukkonen from the slot with three seconds left in the period.
Montreal is 17-2-0 this season when leading after two periods.
Dvorak entered the zone 2-on-1 and passed across to Jake Evans, who fired into an empty net at 18:22 for the 4-2 final.
