Columbus Crew Unveil New Kit, And...Hmmm.

Just look how thrilled they all are!

Columbus Crew SC unveiled their new “For Columbus” kit in an event at city hall today, and the immediate reaction has not been good. (Even the fans aren’t pleased.) Maybe they shouldn’t have worn the blue shorts. They look like Minions.

You can learn all about the new kits here, and one bit of uniform design I think is really getting out of hand is the need for everything to have some sort of symbolism. A close second is the inclusion of easter eggs, and this has ‘em in spades: there are three separate design elements on the inside of the jersey that no one will ever see. You’ll wish you could say the same about the outside.
