Cops: Florida Women's Basketball Player Stole Teammate's Credit Card
University police arrested Florida Gators basketball player Antoinette Bannister Friday, and charged the junior guard with theft of a credit card and fraudulent use of a credit card. Bannister allegedly found the card, which belonged to teammate Viktorija Dimaite, on Jan. 11 in the team's locker room at the practice facility.
Police say Bannister shopped at several places with the card last week. From Gainesville.com:
The card was used at Macy's and Modern Nails and Spa at The Oaks Mall on Monday, police said. It was used on Tuesday at Hibbett Sports at Butler Plaza, Footlocker at the Oaks Mall and Gold Standard West pawn shop on Southwest 34th Street.
Receipts from Hibbett Sports and Gold Standard Pawn were signed "Antoinette Bannister," police reported. A sign-up sheet at the salon was signed "Antoinette."
Though Bannister is still listed on the Gators' roster, she was reportedly dismissed from the team after the charges.
