Coutinho Dunked On Argentina's Head
Photo credit: Leo Correa/ [object Object] As anyone familiar with the English Premier League or Brazil’s national team knows that Phillipe Coutinho is wont to try and bang in a long range golazo if you give him so much as an inch of space. That’s exactly what he did this evening against Argentina in a World Cup qualifier, slipping off of Javier Mascherano’s shoulder, putting his head down, and sending a rocket into the top corner.
Argentina are down 2-0 at halftime, and there is a non-zero chance that they miss out on Russia 2018. They’re currently outside the qualifying positions with over half of qualification already wrapped up. It’s still unlikely that Paraguay or Ecuador can hold them off, but they have scored the second-fewest goals in CONMEBOL despite having Leo Messi and Sergio Agüero on their squad. They could stand to take a cue from Coutinho.
