Cristiano Ronaldo Ignites Real Madrid's Comeback With 2 Goals In 2 Minutes [Updated]
Now we’ve got a game! After their shocking 2-0 loss against Wolfsburg last week, it looked like Real Madrid were on the cusp of blowing a great chance to make it into the Champions League semifinals. Then today’s game came, and Cristiano Ronaldo showed up, and everything has changed.
Real started out dominant, running all over a Wolfsburg team understandably focused almost solely on dropping deep and defending. It only took Real 15 minutes to get that all-important first goal, thanks to a sweet Dani Carvajal cross, some terrible Wolfsburg defending, and a simple finish by Ronaldo. Moments later, the Blancos were back on the attack, winning a corner from which Ronaldo would score the second. We completely understand why he was feeling himself after:
The game has since evened out a bit after the one-way affair that was the first 20 minutes. The overall tie now stands at 2-2, which, if it stays like this after 90 minutes, would result in extra time and penalties. A Real goal would mean they win, and a Wolfsburg one would mean Real would need to win today by three goals. Come on you Wolves!
