Damian Lillard set to defend title in 3-point Contest

The NBA set the field for the 3-point Contest during All-Star weekend in San Francisco on Feb. 15, with a group of eight shooters that includes All-Star Game snub Norman Powell of the Los Angeles Clippers and two-time defending champion Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Along with Powell and Lillard, the New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson, the Detroit Pistons' Cade Cunningham, the Cleveland Cavaliers' Darius Garland, the Miami Heat's Tyler Herro, the Golden State Warriors' Buddy Hield and the Brooklyn Nets' Cam Johnson all will compete.
Herro leads the group with 3.8 made 3-pointers per game this season, while Powell is next among participants with 3.4, while leading the group by going 43.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Powell leads the Clippers with a career-high 23.9 points per game.
Brunson was named an All-Star Game starter, while Cunningham, Garland, Herro and Lillard all were named reserves.
Hield also is a past winner of the event, taking the title in 2020 in Chicago as a member of the Sacramento Kings.
