Darren Sproles Found Out On Twitter That The Saints Are Shopping Him
NFL free agency is underway, with talks between teams and players developing all over Twitter. And poor Darren Sproles heard from Twitter about how he might be traded, instead of through his agent or someone from the Saints.
The Saints weren't expected to keep Sproles—he said his goodbye to New Orleans a few days ago—but being traded would suck for the running back. He has one year left on his four-year contract, so instead of negotiating for a new multi-year deal as a free agent, he could possibly go to a team that doesn't expect to give him a fresh deal after his final contract year. As a 30-year-old running back, Sproles may have no other option but to bet on himself if he wants a new deal in 2015.
