David Beckham Goes Nuts, Kicks Balls At Referee, Starts Shit With Opposing Team's Mascot
Look, Becks, we get that you're frustrated at Great Britain leaving you off the London Olympics squad. We get that. But it's no cause to grow an Austrian mustache and start trolling the world, as amusing as it may be to all of us.
Here's the tail end of Saturday night's Galaxy-Earthquakes California Clasico match in Palo Alto, a madcap battle of goals, missed shots, fouls, and finally a David Beckham meltdown that put him at odds with his opponents, the referee, and even Earthquakes mascot Q. Viewers could see it coming, though; L.A. rushed out to a 3-1 lead thanks to a Beckham goal, another from Landon Donovan, and an Earthquakes own goal. A porous defense and dreadful passing let San Jose score three of their own unanswered, and a sellout crowd went home happy—outside of seeing their Muppet-like mascot involved in the Becks fray.
