David Ortiz Films Interview With Tiny-Ass Dog On His Lap
Relive some of David Ortiz's best moments this year—"this is our fucking city," the iconic cop-celebrated home run in Game 2 of the ALCS and so much more—with quick cuts to David Ortiz sitting in a wood-panelled room with a tiny-ass dog on his lap. Since dogs that small are technically cats anyway, go right ahead and consider this the Dr. Claw to Derek Jeter's Inspector Gadget.
While speaking with the local Boston press, Ortiz was also stumping for Pedigree and apparently filmed some kind of movie. So there's a bit of context for the lapdog and, hopefully, the shirt, too. Aside from striking a ridiculous juxtaposition, Ortiz was also talking about his career in general, which he not so subtly hints could end elsewhere.
"I always keep on telling people, this is a business. Sometimes you've got to do what's best for you and your family. As long as they keep offering me a job and I keep doing what I'm supposed to do and then the relationship keeps on building up, I'm going to be there. Hopefully, I won't have to go and wear another uniform."
Ortiz is still a productive and feared member of the Boston offense so he is speaking from a position of power. Counterpoint:
