Deandre Ayton powers Blazers past Raptors in OT

Deandre Ayton scored a season-best 30 points and collected 19 rebounds in his return from injury to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 128-118 overtime victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
Dalano Banton added 25 points and seven rebounds and Anfernee Simons recorded 23 points and seven assists for the Trail Blazers, who ended their nine-game home losing streak. Toumani Camara had 15 points and nine rebounds, Matisse Thybulle contributed 13 points and four steals and Scoot Henderson added 13 points for Portland.
Immanuel Quickley had 29 points and seven assists and Gary Trent Jr. scored 23 points for Toronto, which lost for the fifth time in its past six games. Chris Boucher added 16 points and eight rebounds, Kelly Olynyk had 15 points and eight assists and Jordan Nwora tallied 10 points for the Raptors.
RJ Barrett (illness) was scratched just prior to game time, leaving Toronto without three starters with Scottie Barnes (hand) and Jakob Poeltl (finger) also sidelined.
Ayton missed the previous five games due to a wrist injury, while Henderson was back after an eight-game absence due to an adductor injury. Jerami Grant (hamstring) missed his second straight game for Portland.
Portland started fast in overtime with baskets by Ayton and Banton and a 3-pointer by Simons to take a 120-113 lead with 2:12 left.
After Quickley split two free throws, Banton converted a three-point play and then knocked down a trey to make it 126-114 with 57.3 seconds remaining as the Trail Blazers closed it out.
Late in regulation, Trent missed a 3-pointer and Gradey Dick missed a follow before Boucher tipped it in to tie the game at 113 with 0.7 seconds left.
Portland shot 47.6 percent from the field, including 16 of 40 from 3-point range.
The Raptors connected on 47.3 percent of their attempts and were 16 of 43 from behind the arc.
The Trail Blazers led by 20 early in the third quarter before Toronto started cutting into its deficit.
Olynyk's basket pulled the Raptors within 77-66 with 6:14 left in the period. Quickley later capped an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer as Toronto moved within 84-79 with 2:42 left.
Banton buried two treys in the final 2:19 of the frame, the latter one providing Portland with a 92-81 lead entering the final stanza.
The Trail Blazers later led 105-95 after a 3-pointer by Simons with 5:59 remaining in regulation before Toronto made its charge.
Portland led 63-46 at the break. Ayton had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.
