Deer Lowers The Boom On Cross Country Runner
A herd of deer interrupted Saturday’s NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, and one of the animals slammed into a runner. They’re sick of our cars and roads, and now they’re taking us out on their turf.
Although someone yelled “Watch out for the deer,” Justin DeLuzio of the Gwynedd Mercy University men’s cross country team wasn’t able to get out of the way. One of the deer leveled him as it scampered past.

According to the university’s recap, DeLuzio was bruised but not seriously hurt. His teammate Matt French stopped to help him, and the pair finished the race together.
