Dereck Chisora Slapped Vitali Klitschko At The Weigh-In Before Tomorrow's Title Bout
In the annals of boxing blunders—and the exploits of Mike Tyson have made those some very thick books indeed—you may be unlikely to find an act so brazen and stupid as what Dereck Chisora did today in Munich at the weigh-in for his WBC heavyweight title fight against Vitali Klitschko.
Ignore for a moment that Klitschko did not retaliate against the British challenger, who stands five inches shorter than the reigning champion. Instead, enjoy the terror that accompanies Klitchko's steely Ukrainian stare, and then see what he told the press after the incident:
I am going to hit back on Saturday. He will get his beating.
Klitschko seems to believe this will be an act of mercy, or at least public service:
I'm really looking forward to teaching this young gentleman a lesson. He is from Great Britain, but he's lacking appropriate manners.
Tomorrow's fight will be aired in the U.S. on something called EPIX HD, a channel I can't find anywhere on my Comcast system but for which you can sign up for a free online trial here, if you'd like to see what happens to people who fuck with Vitali Klitschko. [Sky Sports]
