Memphis went on a 16-1 run that began late in the third quarter and spanned the first 3:52 of the fourth quarter. Vince Williams Jr. scored seven of his career-high 19 points during the Grizzlies' burst, including a go-ahead 3-pointer that ignited a back-and-forth finish.
Williams' basket was the first of seven lead changes over the final 8:46, a stretch that also saw four ties.
Memphis took the lead for good when Jaren Jackson Jr. missed a 3-pointer from the corner, but collected the offensive rebound on Williams' tip. Jackson passed the last of his six assists to an open Bane for the made triple at the top of the key.
Bane recorded nine of his 23 points in the final 4:51. Jackson led Memphis with a game-high 28 points and team-high 10 rebounds.
Marcus Smart — starting at point guard with Ja Morant a late scratch due to a shoulder injury — finished with 25 points and six rebounds and matched Phoenix's Devin Booker with a game-high eight assists.
Booker scored a team-high 24 points to lead all five Suns starters scoring in double-figures. Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic each posted double-doubles with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Durant, and Nurkic going for 18 points and 19 rebounds.
Bradley Beal scored 12 points and Grayson Allen finished with 16 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. Phoenix struggled from deep overall, however, going 8 of 28.
Memphis shot 17 of 49 beyond the arc, led by Smart's 4 of 13. Luke Kennard scored all nine of his points on 3-of-3 shooting from outside.
The Grizzlies are 2-0 on their three-game road swing, while the Suns concluded a six-game homestand at 4-2.
