We found it amusing that, with everyone all concerned about Brett Favre's injury last week, it turned out that he was fine ... but backup Aaron Rodgers ended up out for the season. Has to be frustrating; you're stuck behind Favre, and once you finally get in, you hurt yourself.
With Rodgers out, the Packers' new backup is one Ingle Martin, a rookie out of Furman and a former Florida Gators transfer. It turns out that Martin has a longtime stalker fan who has set up a devotional Web site to Martin at IngleMartin.net.
The site is not run by Martin, but it is, uh, a little creepy.
Welcome Ingle Martin fans! Whether you are here because you are a Gator fan, a Paladin fan or a Packer fan, I'm glad that you are an Ingle Martin fan. I am all three, however, I started this journey by being a Big Red fan. My husband and I (originally from Michigan) moved to Nashville, Tennessee for about eight years. During that time, we would go to high school football games on Friday nights, usually at Montgomery Bell Academy, home of the Big Red and Ingle Martin.
We were lucky enough to watch his entire high school football career and I was impressed by him even back then. He had a great arm, could hold his own under pressure and was just a lot of fun to watch. I also thought "Ingle" was a great pro-football name that would sound good in the newspapers!
So, this anonymous woman, listed only as "JP," has followed Martin around and given weekly updates on his status after watching him throughout high school. Our favorite part is the "Photos" section, where Martin is circled like a junior high crush. Go Ingle!
