Diamondbacks place C Gabriel Moreno (adductor) on IL

Mandatory Credit: Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports The Arizona Diamondbacks placed Gold Glove catcher Gabriel Moreno on the 10-day injured list with a strained left adductor and selected the contract of catcher Adrian Del Castillo from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Moreno, 24, was injured while running out a ground-ball single during the second inning of the Diamondbacks' 7-6, 10-inning road victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Monday. He is batting .262 with five home runs and 41 RBIs in 86 games this season.
Moreno helped Arizona to the World Series last season, winning the Gold Glove in the National League and hitting four home runs with 12 RBIs in 17 playoff games.
Del Castillo, 24, is poised to make his major league debut after batting .319 with 24 home runs and 70 RBIs in 100 games at Reno this season. Through Monday's games, he led the Pacific Coast League in hits (126), runs (86), doubles (36), slugging percentage (.608) and OPS (1.011) and was second in homers. The second-round draft pick in 2021 is a Miami (Fla.) product.
The Diamondbacks also reinstated left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (strained left shoulder) from the 60-day IL, transferred right-hander Bryce Jarvis (sprained right elbow) to the 60-day IL. Right-hander Humberto Castellanos was optioned to Reno late Monday.
Rodriguez was scheduled to start Tuesday night against the host Guardians in his season debut. He was injured late in spring training and dealt with multiple setbacks in his recovery.
The 31-year-old was 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA in 26 starts for the Detroit Tigers last season. Rodriguez signed as a free agent with Arizona last December.
Jarvis, 26, went on the 15-day IL on Aug. 2, retroactive to July 31. He is 1-2 with a 3.19 ERA in 59 1/3 innings over 44 relief appearances in his second season with the Diamondbacks.
Castellanos, 26, has a 5.23 ERA in 10 1/3 innings over seven relief appearances this season.
