Terms of the deal were not released, but it was reported last week that the Dodgers and Paxton had agreed to an $11 million deal.
In 2023, Paxton's first season back after a two-year recovery from Tommy John surgery performed in April 2021, he was 7-5 with a 4.50 ERA, 101 strikeouts and 33 walks in 19 starts for the Boston Red Sox.
On May 8, 2018, with the Seattle Mariners, Paxton became the first Canadian-born pitcher to throw a no-hitter in Canada and only the second Canadian-born pitcher to throw a no-hitter in major league history.
The 35-year-old Paxton is 64-38 with a 3.69 ERA over 156 starts for the Mariners (2013-18, 2021), New York Yankees (2019-20) and Red Sox.
He is the latest pitcher to join the rotation mix for the Dodgers this offseason. Two-way star Shohei Ohtani will not pitch in 2024 due to offseason elbow surgery, but they also signed Yoshinobu Yamamoto from Japan and traded for Tampa Bay Rays No. 1 starter Tyler Glasnow.
