Mandatory Credit: Jeff Hanisch-Imagn Images The retirement of Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead became official Monday when the team placed him on the reserve-retired list.
Armstead let it be known in April that he was retiring, with the Dolphins waiting until June to submit official paperwork in order to move the cap hit obligations over two years instead of one.
Of the $18.548 million in dead money that remains, $10.732 million of it can now be moved to 2026. Miami can also recover more than $7 million signing-bonus money that already was paid and turn it into a credit on their cap hit.
Armstead, 33, played the final three of his 12 NFL seasons with the Dolphins. He spent his first nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints and started 131 of his 135 games played. He was named to the Pro Bowl five times, most recently in 2023.
