Donald Sterling's Wife Decries Her Husband's "Racist Comments"
Although she would not acknowledge the legitimacy of the recorded conversation between her husband and his girlfriend while speaking with ABC's Lisa Salters earlier today, Rochelle Sterling later told TMZ that her "family is devastated by the racist comments made by my estranged husband." It would seem the recording's authenticity has been established.
Rochelle, or Shelly, added that she and her kids do not share his "despicable views or prejudices."
"We will not let one man's small-mindedness poison the spirit of the fans and accomplishments of the team in the city we love."And Shelly says, "We are doing everything in our power to stand by and support our Clippers team."
TMZ also noted that Shelly, who has been estranged from Sterling for over a year, apparently flew home with the team following Game 4 this afternoon in Oakland.
In more uplifting news, both the Blazers and Rockets have joined the Clippers in wearing black socks as another silent protest against this fucked up family.
