Don't Worry, Dodgers Fans: Bud Selig Is In Charge Now
Bud Selig announced today that he will appoint a league representative to oversee "business and the day-to-day operations of the Club," so there's your explanation for Frank McCourt's mingling with the common folk last Thursday.
The Dodgers have been in a bit of a financial pinch ever since Frank and Jamie began their divorce proceedings at the end of the 2009 season — a circus that included Frank writing a public letter to his ex accusing her with "insubordination, non-responsiveness, failure to follow procedures, and inappropriate behavior with regard to a direct subordinate" — and Selig today admitted to "deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers." We've had deep concerns about the male McCourt for a while, and since there's no way Selig will Expo the Dodgers, we expect to see McCourt sell off the team soon. He'll need to, anyway, to pay off his most recent deal with the devil.
The Dodgers host the Braves later tonight. Look for Frank in the left field pavilion.
