The captain revealed the roster move on Tuesday at a preseason press conference.
"Thomas Detry is going to be on the team this year, another Belgian, so excited about that. I think he's a really good player," Johnson said.
"I've played with him a few times before over the years, and then obviously got to spend a lot of time with him the last three or four days. Really like the kid. He's a good player, very talented. So looking forward to that."
LIV's 2026 rosters have not been finalized, but The Times reported that Detry would replace Harold Varner III on 4Aces, while Varner will join Smash GC, whose opening comes from former captain Brooks Koepka's departure to return to the PGA Tour.
Thus, Detry joins Johnson, Patrick Reed and fellow Belgian Thomas Pieters on 4Aces.
Detry, 32, won the 2025 WM Phoenix Open for his maiden title on the PGA Tour -- and the first win by any player from Belgium on the tour.
He ended the 2025 season ranked No. 58 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
