Eduardo Nuñez Carried Off Field After Going Down Running To First Base
via MLB Network Red Sox DH Eduardo Nuñez had to be carried off the field by manager John Farrell and a trainer after apparently injuring his leg while beginning to run out a grounder on the first pitch of today’s ALDS Game 1 against the Astros.
It looked like Nuñez hurt himself immediately after running out of the box, and he wasn’t able to make it to the base before collapsing to the ground.
After just a short assessment, Nuñez was taken out of the game.
Hanley Ramirez replaced Nuñez in the lineup as DH.
Update (11:05 p.m. ET): Nuñez has been taken off the team’s playoff roster and replaced by Chris Young.
