Barry Bonds Ain't Got Nothin' To Lose
This image was lost some time after publication, but you can still view it [object Object] . Barry Bonds is amazing. Just a couple of days ago, he said he planned on losing a little bit of weight in the offseason, which is kind of like Courtney Love saying, "hey, my behavior is going to be a little erratic in the next few months, but it has NOTHING to do with cocaine. So you know." And now Bonds, on the Giants' trip to Washington, D.C., to play the Nationals, says that Congress should butt out of the steroid issue.
"I think we have other issues in this country to worry about that are a lot more serious. I think you guys should direct your efforts into taking care of that. Talk about the athletes that are helping Katrina. Ask yourselves how much money y'all personally donated and have helped."
Bonds, who couldn't be more associated with steroids if he signed an endorsement contract, has now:
a: Told everyone that he's about to lose a bunch of weight and it will have nothing to do with not taking steroids. b: Told Congress that they should stop investigations into steroids and that it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he might be a target.
And you know what? We believe him. The pure brazenness of it is massive and undeniably impressive; at this point, we'd forgive Barry if he killed a drifter for sport.
