“While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa,” Clark wrote in her post. “It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa – my teammates, who made the last four years the best; my coaches, trainers and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver every night; and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.”
Clark has been one of the most dominant women’s college basketball players in recent history. In four years, Clark has accumulated many awards and titles and broken countless records. Most recently, she surpassed Kelsey Plum for most points in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history (3,527 total points) and most recently, Lynette Woodward’s total for most points in major-college women’s basketball (3,649). Clark currently sits 17 points behind Pete Maravich’s record for most points at the NCAA DI level, men’s or women’s, with one game left in the regular season.
In addition to her scoring prowess, Clark was the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year in 2023, the John R. Wooden Award recipient, and won the ESPY for Best Female College Athlete.
Iowa currently is second in the Big 10 and looking to secure a spot in the March Madness tournament, a place where Clark has yet to collect some hardware. The closest she came to a national championship was last season, when the Hawkeyes lost to LSU in the finals.
The WNBA draft will occur on April 15 and many believe Clark will be the first overall pick, which belongs to the Indiana Fever.
