Tommy DeVito's agent looks straight out of A Bronx Tale

Do you remember where you were when you first saw Sean Stellato?

Tommy Devito’s agent first blessed our screens during the pregame coverage of Monday night’s New York Giants-Green Bay Packers game. It didn’t take long for Stellato to become an instant Internet sensation.

Cameras even caught the agent and DeVito’s father, Tom, exchanging kisses on the cheek.

The DeVito family has leaned all-in to the Italian-American shtick since Tommy Cutlets burst onto the scene as an undrafted free agent. The che-vuoi gesture has become the quarterback’s signature celebration. The family handed out homemade chicken cutlets at a tailgate last night. It would only make sense that their agent looks cut straight out of a mob movie. But who is the man behind the fedora, that even had the Manning Brothers talking about him?

Sean Stellato “defied the naysayers” as an undersized star quarterback at Salem High School, according to the bio on his website. Stellato was a two-sport athlete at Marist College, playing both football and basketball. Eventually converting to wide receiver at the college level, Stellato was named to the FCS’s All-Academic football team three straight years between 1999 and 2001.

At one point, Stellato set the school’s career record for receiving touchdowns. The wide receiver later spent a few years in the Arena Football League as a member of the Florida Firecats, Louisville Fire, and Memphis Xplorers before becoming an agent.

While Stellato and DeVito are the most iconic agent-player tandem in the league, Stellato also represents several NFL players. In the past, he has represented Alfred Morris, Joe Vellano, Ryan Allen, and Bryan Braman. 14 Stellato-represented players were featured in the Patriots’ last three Super Bowl wins.

Stellato is also an author. He published a nonfiction work “No Backing Down,” detailing the story of the 1994 Salem High School football team. The book has endorsement quotes from some impressive names, including Bill Belichick, former NFL coach Chip Kelly, NFL insider Ian Rapoport, and 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey captain Mike Eruzione. He also wrote two children’s books, “Buddy and the Magic Ball” and “Football Magic: Buddy’s New Beginnings.” The latter has testimonials from Heisman winner Doug Flutie and Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton.

On top of it all, Stellato is officially being inducted into Chicago’s Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame on Friday. He was also honored by the Boston Italian Consulate on Dec. 8.

In Stellato’s eyes, though, “the best is yet to come.”
