That Sure Was A Great "All-Star" "Game"
Well, the All-Star Game in Vegas is finally behind us, and the best thing we can say is that no hungover players needed courtside IVs. That is not to be underestimated; it can be extremely difficult to work out dehydration while sprinting up and down the court. Of course, that assumes anyone's playing defense; a big assumption.
Anyway, the game was, as TrueHoop's Henry Abbott put it in his ESPN debut last night, the game was a complete dud, a bunch of people just winging the ball upcourt heedlessly, missing dunks, throwing random passes behind the back and out of bounds ... it was like watching a group of high school kids impersonate the Harlem Globetrotters without practice or, you know, gumption. It didn't resemble an actual basketball game, and, sadly, it didn't have Shaq dancing or anything particularly weird. It was obvious everyone pretty much just wanted to go home after a long weekend.
We tend to not work ourselves too much about this; we doubt anyone was expecting many ahhhh moments from last night anyway. The best we can come up with: Prince was sitting next to Dave Chappelle? Wha?
